Conference Events


Fall in XO with TO – Friday, September 12 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM


This year’s Fall in XO with TO will challenge delegates to explore the city through a fun and friendly photo scavenger hunt. You will go around to different hotspots in downtown, take pictures to accumulate points. The winning team from this event will get an awesome prize to start off the weekend!


This is an awesome way to start off the weekend, meet some of your fellow delegates and potentially win a really cool prize.


***Teams to be formed at the start of the event and points to be tallied by an OOBS staff. All maps and directions will be provided at the beginning of the event. If you are on the waitlist for the event, you will be contacted before-hand if spaces open up.


Women’s Networking HourFriday, September 12 from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM


This event is for women in attendance and provides the opportunity for delegates and professionals to have discussions; to network with one another and connect in a relaxed setting. Words will be shared by Michele Goddard, a representative of our sponsor, BMO.


Trans Issues in the Workplace – Saturday, September 13 from 2:00 PM – 2:50 PM


This practical session will explore the experiences and challenges faced by trans people within the workplace. The session will support you to create inclusive spaces and policies for trans persons in their work environment as well as to articulate the importance of addressing these challenges and to get organizational buy-in. The session will be facilitated by The 519 Church Street Community Centre. The centre provides education and training programs that meet the needs of the local and broader LGBTQ communities.


Participants will:

  • Identify and discuss key LGBTQ terms and vocabulary (focus on trans communities)

  • Identify and discuss examples of discrimination and harassment faced by trans communities in the workplace.

  • Demonstrate and share an empathetic understanding of the experiences of the trans communities and colleagues.

  • Propose ways to make the workplace safe and inclusive for trans colleagues.

Call To The Bar – Law Student Networking Session – Saturday, September 13 from 5:30 PM – 6:20 PM


This event for Law Students, and provides the opportunity for students to network one-on-one with professionals in a smaller, more relaxed setting. Light refreshments and beverages will be provided. This session is Presented by Out On Bay Street and will welcome representatives from Annual Conference Partners.

Students who have registered for the Annual Conference can now reserve tickets to the Leaders To Be Proud Of Awards ceremony. Although tickets are at no cost, we have a limited number of tickets on a first-come-first-serve basis, so don’t miss your chance and RSVP now!
