The Osler and Bennett Jones Women Supporting Women Bursary
The Osgoode Women's Network (OWN) is excited to continue offering the Women Supporting Women Bursary. For the second year in a row, this bursary is generously sponsored by Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and Bennett Jones LLP. In line with OWN’s mandate, this bursary is aimed at supporting women in our community and is intended to alleviate the financial stresses of law school for two women-identifying students at Osgoode Hall Law School who demonstrate financial need.
Bursary Terms:
To be awarded to two women-identifying students enrolled in the J.D. program at Osgoode Hall Law School who demonstrate financial need and community involvement. Preference will be given to students with higher financial need and/or those involved in community work supporting women-identifying and/or other marginalized groups.
Value: $900 per student.

We welcome and encourage all women to apply, including women who were not assigned female at birth. The committee will consist of OWN's Diversity and Inclusion Officers, President or Vice-President, and two other Executive members. All identifying personal information will be redacted prior to review to protect privacy and ensure an equitable selection process.

Selection Process
All applications will be reviewed by a committee consisting of OWN Executive Team members, who will review each applicant based on two main criteria:

Community involvement; and

Financial need.

All applications will be assessed holistically.

The committee will consist of OWN's Diversity and Inclusion Officers, President or Vice-President, and two other Executive members, a majority decision of which will decide the final candidates to be awarded. Any OWN executive on the review committee with a clear conflict of interest will be excused from reviewing that applicant to uphold accountability. To avoid conflicts of interest, OWN Executive team members will be ineligible to apply.
