The Osler and Bennett Jones Women Supporting Women Bursary

The Osgoode Women’s Network (OWN) is excited to announce our first ever bursary, the Women Supporting Women Bursary sponsored by Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and Bennett Jones LLP! In line with OWN’s mandate, this bursary is aimed at continuing our goal of supporting women in our community. To ease some of the financial stresses of law school, this bursary will be awarded to alleviate the cost of books for two female students at Osgoode Hall Law school who demonstrate financial need.

This bursary would not be possible without the gracious support of our donors, Bennett Jones LLP and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. There will be two students selected for the bursary each year for the next two years, based on the criteria outlined below. Each student will be awarded the amount of $900.00, which has been cumulatively provided by our donors. We extend our gratitude to our donors for their generous support.

Resources for OWN Members

OWN strives to provide its members with resources and opportunities to connect with other women in the legal profession.
Below are prominent organizations in the Greater Toronto Area that provide support to women in the legal profession.

The Women Lawyers Forum strives to forge bonds among women lawyers and advance women in the legal profession, critically examining from a feminist perspective how the law affects women in society, and serving the profession and society by sharing in the OBA's advocacy and professional development work.

WLF branches, now established in every province and territory, have become sections of their provincial CBA branches. By changing our name to "Women Lawyers Forum," we are making our relationship with the national Conference clear. Every member of the Ontario section is automatically a member of national WLF.

The Women’s Law Association of Ontario is a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to advancing issues and causes relevant to women in the legal profession through education and awareness programs.

The association has existed since 1919 as a vibrant, active voice for women in the profession and a vital resource to members in their pursuit of fulfilling and successful careers in law.

WLAO provides valuable networking opportunities via social  and educational events in a professional and supportive environment.

We welcome all law students, lawyers and judges as members.

Young Women in Law (YWL) is a Not for Profit Organization for women lawyers in their early stages of practice.  YWL acts as a central forum for women to connect, enhance their skills, and give back to their community. Click to view the YWL Mission.

YWL hosts a variety of networking events that provide our members with opportunities to meet and establish connections with other YWL members, develop and enhance life and career skills, and get special access to conferences and deals offered by our partners.
